Codo’s support <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The workshop has been conducted with 12 participants. While workshops typically last for three hours, the Mitsui Mining and Smelting Group emphasized the importance of participants discovering and internalizing the connection between their work and carbon neutrality. As a result, we extended the discussion time for action planning, providing a total program of four hours.
Before the discussion part, a representative from the Mitsui Kinzoku Group introduced their existing initiatives. This not only helped everyone gain a shared understanding of the company\u2019s efforts but also reinforced the importance of internal collaboration for executing actions.
During the discussion, there was lively debate about the challenges and solutions for promoting actions, as well as more effective actions. In the post-workshop survey, participants reported an average improvement of over 50% in their understanding of carbon neutrality compared to before the workshop, along with many enthusiastic comments about their willingness to implement actions in their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background and Purpose behind this Climate Fresk Workshop<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

“The Mitsui Kinzoku Group is engaged in activities to address climate change with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. We believe that these activities cannot progress if they are only undertaken by a single department; rather, they require a company-wide effort. To promote these activities, it is essential to enhance each employee’s understanding of climate change and motivate them to take action. The Climate Fresk workshop, which lasts for three hours, allows participants to learn the fundamentals of climate science through a card game and share actions related to their work. The Mitsui Mining and Smelting Group implemented this workshop with the expectation of effectively improving participants’ literacy and motivation related to carbon-neutral initiatives in a short period.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The cards used in the Climate Fresk workshop are designed with pictures, diagrams, and charts that are immediately understandable, even for first-time participants, allowing them to deepen their awareness and understanding of the fundamentals of climate science. On top of this, the facilitators created a friendly atmosphere, making it easy for all participants to express their thoughts openly and engage in discussions without hesitation. The four-hour session felt too short because it was so enjoyable, and it heightened our interest in climate change and awareness of activities related to it.
