ANA Holdings is a corporate group led by All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline company.\u200b It operates flights to more than 100 airports in 53 domestic and 48 international destinations, employs 42,000 people, and owns a fleet of more than 300 aircrafts. \u200bANA Holdings set in 2021 the goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050, with an intermediary goal by 2030. The company is engaged in international corporate decarbonization disclosure frameworks, in particular CDP <\/a>and TCFD<\/a>. In 2020, ANA Holdings submitted its climate targets to the Science-Based Target Initiative.\u200b<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The World Benchmarking Alliance<\/a>, a global non-profit running benchmarks of 2000 firms against their contributions to the SDGs, is publishing assessments of climate plans of companies in various sectors. The assessments are based on the ACT methodology<\/a> developed in Europe by ADEME<\/a> and CDP<\/a>. As the first ACT-licensed consultancy in Japan, Codo supported ANA throughout the process of the company\u2019s first-ever assessment by WBA during the summer of 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our team helped the sustainability department of ANA Holdings understand the methodology, identify the most relevant data to provide to the assessor, and articulate source data in Japanese and reporting framework in English. After the publication of the assessment in October 2022, Codo delivered to ANA an expert feedback brief, including the identification of the margin of progress for ANA Holdings and comparison with competitors also assessed by WBA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
