In recent years, innovators have developed a new range of educational solutions to make climate science accessible to everyone, including team-building workshops, gamification, and e-learning platforms. At Codo Advisory’s Earth Day 2023 event, innovators and early adopters from France and Japan have showcased how science-based education on climate change can be made accessible to all employees, helping each company to advance its decarbonization journey. \u201cWe just hit a million of participants all over the world, with more than 800 participants in Japan. Workshops are delivered in a Japanese context, going further than translation but adapting to cultural and societal differences. Over 1 million participants in more than 50 countries have used The Climate Fresk, a climate change education workshop that was created in France. To enhance climate literacy for both domestic and foreign enterprises in Japan, Codo Advisory conducts Climate Fresk workshops in Japanese and English. Climate Fresk goes beyond mere translation of cards into Japanese; it takes the initiative to customize them according to the specific local issues encountered, creating a truly unique experience in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt 2 tonnes, we are beginning to go abroad and develop different languages. In our workshop, we alternate two moments: assessing what you want to change for yourself, and taking decisions as a group<\/em>, to visualize how to reach global societal objectives. Understanding how much carbon we individually and collectively emit into the atmosphere is the goal of 2tonnes: through a simulation that examines the potential for both individual and group actions while evaluating the future effects of global warming based on scientific evidence, we become able to take practical action, to create a comprehensive strategy for the green transition.  \u201cCultures and behavior are different in every country; with MyCO2 we have taken the time to translate the tool to Japanese, but this is not everything. Now, we want to do localization and have the behavioral data personalized to each country. We are improving the project every day, modifying the questionnaires to fit the Japanese day to day life and using a national data set. Through this workshop, participants become more aware of how the environment affects their daily lives and are empowered to take action at their individual level. Return of experience: Nippon Yusen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nippon Yusen (NYK) was founded in 1885 and is one of the world\u2019s leading maritime transportation companies. It currently operates more than 800 vessels, airplanes and trucks in 600 logistics centers in 40 countries and regions. A-listed by CDP since 2019, NYK initiated ESG management in 2021, realizing the significance of contributing to the worldwide drive toward sustainable development. As a result, NYK has evolved into a provider of sustainable solutions, producing new value for clients and partners: through ESG Navigators, they facilitate talks that connect the enterprise vertically, horizontally, and diagonally on sustainable issues. Representatives from Nippon Yusen’s decarbonization team discovered the Climate Fresk through Codo Advisory and are now preparing to expand the use of this workshop within the company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
