About Mitsubishi UFJ Bank (MUFG)

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group is the largest financial institution in Japan and has one of the world’s largest global networks, with approximately 170,000+ professionals in over 50 countries and regions. MUFG is committed to actively contributing to realizing a sustainable society to help achieve the agreed terms of the Paris Agreement and the transition to a decarbonized society. The company aims to achieve net zero GHG emissions in its finance portfolio by 2050 and its own operations by 2030.

Codo conducted a Climate Fresk workshop with the MUFG Fukuoka branch in mid-March. The Climate Fresk is a 3-hour workshop based on the latest IPCC reports. It offers participants of all levels the opportunity to learn the fundamental science of climate change.

Guided by Codo’s professional facilitators, 13 administrative officers and executives of MUFG worked together to deepen their understanding of the causes and impacts of human activities on the environment.

Following the session, the participants expressed that their understanding of climate change has improved. Using the Climate Fresk allowed the company to raise internal awareness of climate action by encouraging members to tackle climate change issues together and served as a team-building activity.

A word from MUFG Fukuoka Branch:

“It was a great training where we learned many things about climate change we did not know before the workshop. The session inspired us to take collaborative action as executives in each of our departments. The science-based approach and numerical examples made it easy to understand the concepts. Our facilitator created a welcoming atmosphere and ensured each participant could follow the session.”
